About Us

We started the Baby Shortlist to help moms and dads save time searching for the best baby products. Why? Because there is a lot of noise  and BS on the web and we felt compelled to put our own research and testing to good use.   Since there are so many products, it’s often hard to tell which ones are worth considering, which is why we have created shortlists to help you narrow down options. 

We are a small start up and unlike most review sites which are sponsored or owned by big corporations, we remain independent. For this reason we are proudly objective and brand agnostic.  We’ve put a lot of time researching, testing, interviewing pediatricians (and other experts) and so, we are confident that we have curated quality products that you (and your baby) will love.  

We evaluate each product based on :

Functionality/Design:  generally the more versatile the better although we give more points for products that simply are effective.

Ease of Use: you simply don’t have much time to assemble and figure out how to use products. Products needs to be expertly designed for both parents and babies.

Quality: materials used and durability matters!

Price: obviously the cheaper the better however we all want the best for our little ones and sometimes spending an extra is really worth it.

Distribution/Convenience of finding product:  We check to see if the product is easily obtained among online and local retailers. We link out to Amazon because it is the biggest retailer in the US and have the best prices and quick delivery.

On that note, we may earn a tiny commission if you purchase on Amazon however this is so negligible it is hardly a reason to justify this as a driver of our recommendation. We keep our reviews squarely focused on helping expecting parents and their friends and family based on criteria above.

Our motto is ‘happy babies, happy parents’ so we hope our shortlists give you some peace of mind and help you quickly find the best baby products currently available.
